Art Exploration
4 Saturdays, 11 am - 12:30 pm
Students will find inspiration for their creativity by examining great art movements in history from the Renaissance (Leonardo DaVinci) to Modern Art (Sonia Delaunay). Students will also get an opportunity to develop their skills in a variety of art mediums from painting and drawing to oil pastels and collage. All supplies are included. Capacity: 10 students. Minimum: 5 students.
Leonardo DaVinci, May 8: During this one-day workshop, students will become familiar with the works of Leonardo DaVinci. Students will give his most famous portrait (Mona Lisa) a 21st Century make-over in watercolor. All supplies included.

Rembrandt, May 15: Baroque Dutch Painting and portraiture are the subjects of this one-day workshop. After examining the works of Rembrandt, students will create self-portraits in pencil and colored pencil. All supplies included.

Romanticism & Realism, May 22: The works of John Constable and Joseph Mallord William Turner will be examined as the students learn about Romanticism and Realism in landscape painting, before creating their own acrylic masterpiece. All supplies included.

Ceramics

Hand-building is like playing in the mud – only better! Learn how to create bowls, mugs, lanterns, masks, plates, animals, boxes and more!. Dress for play. All materials included. Capacity: 10 students. Minimum: 5 students.
Drawing

Whether you want to draw animals, portraits or superheroes - or experiment with charcoal, colored pencils or watercolors - this course is for you! Instructor Richard DiGia will provide individual instruction according to each student’s interest to gain most from the experience. Offered in four and eight week increments. Capacity: 10 students. Minimum: 6 students.

Whether your child is just beginning or seeking to advance his/her skills, each ½ hour private lesson is tailored to the student’s individual abilities. Information on rentals and appropriately sized instruments is available. Options to add additional individual and group lessons available.

Join teacher Kevin Danielson for 1:1 piano instruction for beginners, as well as those wanting to improve their musical talents. Each one-half hour lesson, tailored to the student’s individual level, will build on skills. Ages 10+. Appointments begin at 10:30 am. Enjoy 1:1 piano instruction with Kevin Danielson! Whether you are just beginning or have been playing for a while, each ½ hour lesson will be tailored to your individual needs. Ages 10+. Appointments begin at 10:30 am. Last appointment at 3:30 pm.
Reinforce private lessons by learning to play with others! This course is designed to help existing students listen, respond and perform as a team. Lessons will end with a recital for families.
Painting
Start your painting journey today! Join the Hoyt’s own Miss Paige to learn the art of acrylic painting on canvas. All materials are included. A great class for teens! No painting experience needed. Capacity: 10. Minimum: 5.
Videography
8 Thursdays, 6-8 pm
Even if you have little to no knowledge of video production, you can learn how to create a film! Explore the four stages of creating a film - developmental, pre-production, production, and post production - while learning how to operate a camera and more! Additional studio use may be available outside of class. Bring a notebook and flash drive to save your work! Capacity: 8. Minimum: 6.
8 Saturdays, 10-11:30 am
Claymation is essentially stop motion animation using clay to create your characters and develop your storyline. Professional filmmaker, Tom Stoops, will lead students through the process of developing a character and storyline, the use of green screens, cameras, and editing. At the end of the course, the students will have a finished ‘short’ to share! Capacity: 8. Minimum: 6.
