Whether ‘secret societies’ or ‘societies of secrets’, our newest exhibit, Mystery and Benevolence: Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art, explores the history and intrigue of Freemasonry in American culture. Accompanied by Fraternity of Brothers: Freemasonry in the Valley of New Castle, a collection of art and artifacts from the Scottish Rite Cathedral’s archives showcasing the building’s construction and the history of the more than two dozen Masonic groups that continue to meet there today.

Tour the Decorated Period House

Relive the history of one of New Castle’s most prominent families! Each year we deck the halls of Alex Crawford Hoyt’s former 1917 estate with more than a dozen trees and thousands of lights to showcase the historic interiors.
