Bookmark Option 1: My Bookshelf Bookmark

  • Cut out the bookmark on the left (the one with the books)
  • Add a ribbon, string or yarn to create a tassel
  • Each time you read a new book, color in a book on your bookmark and write the titles on the back! How long will it take you to fill in your bookmark??

Bookmark Option 2: Stained Glass Bookmark

  • Cut out the bookmark on the right (the blank one)
  • Mix 3 parts white glue with 1 part water in a small cup or dish
  • Cut up some tissue paper in to small pieces (about half inch squares)
  • Dip a piece of tissue paper into the glue mixture
  • Allow excess glue to drip off and then place the piece of tissue paper on the bookmark. Smooth it out with your finger or a paint brush.
  • Repeat the process, overlapping edges of the tissue paper, until the bookmark is covered.
  • Allow it to dry. If any tissue paper goes over the edge, trim it off now.
  • Punch a hole at the top and tie on your string, ribbon or yarn.
