Using basic origami folding techniques, students will create a pair of crane earrings from small pieces of specialty Japanese Yuzen paper. Each crane will be assembled with a choice of various materials that include Swarovski crystals, gold and silver plated beads, charms, dangles, and stainless steel ear wires. As a final step, each earring will be coated with a polycrylic medium to add durability to the paper. All materials provided. Japanese Yuzen paper is known for its bright and intense colors and gold and silver silk screened overlays. The papers are handcrafted by artists in Japan and inspired by Kimono fabric.
