Nancy E. McLean is a wildlife and equine artist from Warren, Ohio, who specializes in pastel portraits of domestic and wild animals.

Having drawn from an early age, she studied art and art history at Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art.  After working in oils for several years she took up pastel drawing, a medium she has continued to the present.  Her work is included in private and corporate collections and she has been commissioned to produce touching and lifelike portraits of many beloved family pets and horses.  In 2012, she ventured into the exciting new world of on-line publishing, creating a beautiful hard cover book of her horse drawings entitled “Heavenly Creatures: The Horse In Art and Words”.  She also has a line of notecards of her original artwork called “Doggerel”.  When she isn’t at her drawing board, she is pursuing her other passions: dancing and writing.  She has just completed her eleventh novel and is seeking a literary agent for publication.

I have loved and drawn horses since I was a child.  I could create hundreds of horse drawings and never tire of my subject matter.  They give me as much pleasure in the process of creating them as in looking at the finished product every day.  My goal for this show would be to create an exhibit for horse lovers like myself and for those who don’t yet know that they love horses.” ~Nancy
