“Insider’s Tour” with Dr. Irene Kabala

The arts have played a role in worship since biblical times. Some pieces were created to carry out rites and rituals, while others were designed to enrich the environment. Either way, the paintings, sculpture, vestments, banners, stained glass windows and other objects commissioned were made to affect and influence the spirit of those gathered to listen and to celebrate.

Join Dr. Irene Kabala for a private tour of her culturally diverse collection of century’s old art and artifacts included in this exhibit. Amassed, she says, from extensive travel and research over the past 12 years. In love with art since a child, Kabala holds several degrees in art history and medieval studies including a Bachelor’s from the University of Toronto and a Masters and Doctorate from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art History at IUP.
