What is Empty Bowls?

Did you know that 100% of the students in the New Castle Area School District receive free breakfast, lunch, and dinner at school? Once they leave however, over 90% of those same students do not know where their next meal will come from. Empty Bowls is a grassroots fundraising movement across the country where a meal of soup and bread is served, and as a token of appreciation, a handmade bowl is given to attendees. Arts & Education at the Hoyt is proud to host this Bowl Glazing Workshop to provide some of the hundreds of bowls given out that day.
