Like many others doing their part to slow the spread of COVID-19, Arts & Education at the Hoyt has closed its doors in an effort to safeguard the health and well-being of our staff and visitors. While many things may seem uncertain moving forward, our desire “to expand and enrich the life of the community through participation in the arts” remains intact.
Thus we will be offering the following resources free of charge while social distancing remains a national concern:
- Virtual Tours of our galleries and collections.
- On-line arts lessons
- Free art supplies and take home crafts
- Weekly art challenges in and outdoors. (Follow us on Facebook to participate!)
- Resources for artists impacted by COVID-19

Additionally, we have relaxed our scholarship guidelines to offer increased awards to individuals and families applying for summer programs moving forward. We anticipate that summer classes (July-August), Children’s Summer Art Camp (July 7-31) and Children’s Summer Arts Festival (July 31) will continue as planned. Our refund policies will not only guarantee cash refunds in the event of cancellation, but credit for classes that student might miss class due to illness.
We will also be taking advantage of this opportunity to do a ‘deep clean’, stock classrooms with disinfectant and hand-sanitizer, and adjust classroom policies to comply with ongoing health concerns when we reopen.
