After receiving a Crescent Memorial Scholarship from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Tom Connelly traveled extensivingly studying the works and methods of the world’s most important artists. He returned home to Pennsylvania to apprentice with William J. Gravatt, master of abstract impressionism and student of renowed cubists; Leger, Metzinger & Picabia. He also studied with printmaker, Phillip Mendlo and sculptor, Eugene Gittings.
Tom has exhibited at Hoyt Institute, Eclectic Gallery, Rennick Gallery, Blue Sky Gallery and La Fond. He has taught at Penn State University, Thiel College, Art Institute of New Kensington and has lectured regularly through a variety of organizations. His work is in numerous private and corporate collections including, Carnegie Mellon University.
